Hello dearest readers! As I am a fan of the Korean language, I am also a fan of Korean food. I could say Korea is my second home and I terribly miss it. (Feel free to check out my Korea travel articles here!) Thankfully, I was invited by my Korean professor Ms. Kyungmin Bae of University of the Philippines Linguistics to visit their newly opened branch of Mokja! in Banawe. I was invited before as well to visit in their first branch, Maginhawa, but I couldn’t allot time since Quezon City became mentally far from me after graduation. Anyway, that was my birthday at that time thus I splurged myself in unlimited food and buffet. Without any further ado, let’s review Mokja Banawe!
1. Atmosphere ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We went at Mokja Banawe so early because we still have another dinner buffet at night at Something Fishy, Eastwood. The place, since it’s fairly new, is very clean and I was told that this is more spacious than their Maginhawa Branch. Orderliness matters a lot to me and this is not too fancy nor unattractive; it’s just simple and neat. Aside from that, if you’re a fan of KPop, you’ll be happy with the background music playing. There are also seats on the floor as you can see in the photo, to maximize the Korean dining experience.
2. Food ⭐⭐⭐⭐
It looks few but please watch my YouTube video below to see that it isn’t. I love the food but if you’re not good at eating spicy ones, perhaps you wouldn’t enjoy it that much. My boyfriend, Kristian, can’t tolerate a lot of spices. Thus, it wasn’t too special for him. As for me, I was craving for Korean food so everything seemed delicious to me. Once you enter the Mokja Banawe, you can savor the smell of the side dishes already. My only concern is the freshness of these sides on times that there would be few customers. Comparing it with other restaurants, other Korean restos serve the sides right after doing it.
3. Customer Service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Sadly, I do not have any pictures of the Mokja Banawe staff. However, I applaud them for taking care of us, their customers even though we are just alone there in the morning. They assisted us from our concerns to grilling the food. Moreover, they have a birthday treat of an unlimited grill for the celebrant with four (4) full-paying adult. Since I just brought one, they just gave me some discount.
4. Accessibility ⭐⭐⭐
I’m not really familiar with some of the Quezon City area, thus we just booked a Grab on the way there. This is quite near to Welcome Rotonda. Thus, if you are familiar with the area there, it wouldn’t be hard for you to commute going there.
5. Overall Dining Experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.25!
I will love to go back here again, if it wasn’t for the distance. You better try it if you are near the area since my experience was really pleasant. Plus, the prices are reasonable! You may check out their full menu here at Zomato:
